Welcome to Swansea Sangha - a local Buddhist Study Group who meet in Swansea . The group is informal and welcoming to all who have an interest in following the reflective, rational and ethical path of the Buddhadharma, or the Buddha's Teachings. None of us are monks or enlightened beings, just normal folk who choose to study the Dhamma as path to a peaceful, considerate and self-regulatory way of living.
The group is secular, and has no affiliations to any organised group, lineage or teachers so that all who attend can be free to interpret the teachings in the purest form, but also in a way unadulterated by organisational opinion. Teachings come from the oldest Theravada traditions, as outlined in the Pali Canon and free enquiry is encouraged!
Meetings are shaped by the Sangha, who decide on topics of study which form the basis of simple Dhamma talks. A normal evening would consist of:
7.15 - Welcome, introductions and of course Tea & Biscuits!
7.45 - Reflective discussion on our experiences since last Sangha
8.00 - Dhamma Talk on subjects ranging from exploration of the Suttas (teachings)
8.30 - Mindfulness Practice (Bring a Cushion)
